Intro to Mindfulness & Meditation
This intro program is now full.
Adults. The six-week course is designed to inform participants of the purpose, methods and benefits of mindfulness and meditative practices. Sessions may involve breathing practice, mental imagery, awareness of body and mind, and/or muscle and body relaxation. You will be taught to pay more attention to whatever you are experiencing in the here and now, and how your body is reacting. This may include your emotions, thoughts and other sensations. We’ll provide you with just enough for your mind to focus on so it can quiet down and avoid the distractions of the daily enduring chatter. Benefits, some long-term, may include:
- lowering levels of stress and anxiety
- improve your attention
- better sleep patterns
- making progress towards longer-term goals
- reduce or remove temporary negative feelings
- manage chronic pain
- and more
Participants will be encouraged to take the teachings and apply them to their own practices, with the goal of each individual to develop a daily practice. Ultimately, this can enhance a greater sense of personal peace and a better understanding of our daily lives. Instructor is personal trainer John Slay.

Try the Tri – Indoor Triathlon Training
Let our professional personal trainers guide you in a small group setting as you train for the J’s own Indoor Triathlon (Feb. 9-10), helping you achieve the goals of getting faster, stronger and staying injury free throughout the process. We welcome all, from new to experienced triathletes. Avoid the pitfalls of training by making sure the muscles used for each segment – swim, bike and run – stay strong and flexible using tools such as bands, foam rollers, weights, BAPs boards & more. This program does not include time in the pool.
