Mindfulness & Meditation
Adults. This course is designed to inform participants of the purpose, methods and benefits of mindfulness and meditative practices. Sessions may involve breathing practice, mental imagery, awareness of body and mind, and/or muscle and body relaxation. You will be taught to pay more attention to whatever you are experiencing in the here and now, and how your body is reacting. This may include your emotions, thoughts and other sensations. We’ll provide you with just enough for your mind to focus on so it can quiet down and avoid the distractions of the daily enduring chatter. Benefits, some long-term, may include:
- lowering levels of stress and anxiety
- improve your attention
- better sleep patterns
- making progress towards longer-term goals
- reduce or remove temporary negative feelings
- manage chronic pain
- and more
Participants will be encouraged to take the teachings and apply them to their own practices, with the goal of each individual to develop a daily practice. Mobility Express: Flexibility Training
Mobility and flexibility is a critical component of physical performance and is equally important for your overall health. Simply “stretching” may not be enough or as effective as the techniques trainers can offer. In a series of 15-minute sessions, our trainers employ a variety of partner-assisted stretching and foam rolling techniques to maximize your results.
