Life as a full-time caregiver can be difficult.
Adult Day at the J is here to help.
Everything Adult Day at the J does is designed to create a stimulating and welcoming environment and to make life easier for your loved one and you. According to recent research, adult day centers have been shown to improve the lives of not only the participants but also their caregivers!
Caregivers who use adult day centers experience:
Reduced levels of depression and anxiety
Improved physical health
More opportunities for self-care
Lower mortality rates than non-caregivers of the same age
Lower levels of family stress that can lead to premature aging

Caregiver Connections Support Group
In addition to the peace of mind that comes with the safety and care of your loved one, the J offers Caregiver Connections, a monthly online meeting for members of the ADJ family in need of a network of support. Our confidential support groups offer opportunities to share challenges, solutions, and resources as you seek support in navigating the stages of caregiving. All are welcome to join, and care for family members may be available. Arrangements must be made in advance of each session.

A Better Option for You and Your Family
Adult Day at the J might be a better option for your family than in-home care, a nursing home, or other senior living options. Here at the J, we offer:
- Low-Cost Alternatives. According to Genworth’s Cost of Care Survey, adult day services are the most cost-effective option for daytime support services. Our services end up being nearly one-third the cost of in-home care and one-fifth the cost of long-term residential care.
- Flexible Scheduling. The Adult Day at the J Program is open weekdays from 8am to 5pm, plus we can work with your arrival and departure schedules during these times!
- Social Interaction. Feelings of isolation can quickly lead to depression as mobility and ability decrease in your loved ones. Adult day at the J provides the stimulation your loved one needs in order to feel like a productive, active member of society.
- Peace of Mind. In addition to socialization, delicious kosher meals and snacks, and an exciting change of pace, we offer a medical model of care that includes a registered nurse available on-site to dispense all types of medications — including injections, inhalers, and controlled substances.
- Specialized Care. We are professionally staffed to care for seniors in the early to middle stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia.
- Independence for you and your loved ones. Those who cannot be left at home alone can have the daytime supervision they need at ADJ, freeing up time for you and your other responsibilities.
