Don’t let this colder weather distract you from planning your children’s warmer weather activities. This is the perfect time of the year to register your camper for the J’s Day Camps.
This year’s Day Camp line-up packs a year worth of fun into just 11 weeks of camp activities. Your camper can choose between sports camps, arts camps, technology games and more – or he or she can pick them all!
“One of the most unique things about J Day Camps is the number of opportunities our campers get to swim,” said Brad Chotiner, Day Camp Director. “Swimming has always been one of my favorite activities at camp, and you can’t beat a camp where you get to swim every day.”
Whether at the Staenberg or Fox buildings, campers will receive certified swim instruction or enjoy recreational swim time every day. Campers will have access to the aquatic centers at the J’s two locations and be able to slide, swing and splash their way into pool fun.
The J encourages diversity, and campers of all backgrounds and abilities are welcome to spend the summer enjoying J Day Camps. J Day Camps are instilled with Jewish values in a way that appeals to people of all faiths.
“When I started as Director of the J Day camps, I quickly came to love what a welcoming environment our camps provide,” said Chotiner. “Both campers and staff really make everyone feel a part of the camp family. Whether it is your first day or your fifth year at our camps, you are made to feel you belong. It is an honor to be director at a camp with such positive values.”
The J also offers individualized inclusion support to campers with developmental disabilities who may need support getting acclimated to the camp environment. This service is tailored to best fit camper’s needs as discussed among the parent, camper and coordinator.
“The Inclusion Department is a very unique aspect about our camp, and it enriches the environment of the camp for everyone involved, including campers, counselors, directors and families. Our inclusion support brings a sense of community to camp because our inclusion campers learn acceptance from their peers while our other campers learn empathy and kindness.” said Jasmine Rangel, Inclusion Coordinator at the J. “Campers who receive inclusion support come back to the J summer after summer because our camp environment is enriching, enthusiastic and a great place to spend the summer.”
J Day Camps provide campers the chance to make new friends, build self-esteem and create life-long memories. Our staff is well-trained counselors and specialists who work at the J year round. They have a passion for working with children and an expertise in creating quality programming that will ensure your camper has a great time experiencing new things all summer long.
J members receive member pricing on all Day Camps. Add this to the Early Bird rate available through March 8, and J members can receive up to $200 off their summer camp registration. So, sign up early to secure not only your campers spot in their favorite camp but also the best price available.
Interested in J Day camps but not sure which camp to pick? Attend the 2015 Summer Camp Registration Day (at both SFC and Fox), and ask the J’s Camp Directors your camp questions. Registration Day is the last day to receive the Early Bird rate on J Day Camps.
