The Family Center is a part of the Center of Jewish Community Life at the J, and serves families in the community with children ages five and younger. We provide a warm and nurturing environment for families to meet, connect and grow together. We are one of very few Jewish parenting centers in the St. Louis community and our programs are open to people of all faiths, as well as to both J members and the public.

For more information about the J’s Family Centers, please contact Emilie Brockman, 314.442.3267.

What do we offer?

Parenting Support

We support families by offering classes and workshops throughout the year for expectant families and families with children 5 and under. We also offer prenatal and postpartum Lactation Support Services including a free monthly Nursing Moms Group and private 1-on-1 lactation support by appointment.

Special Family Events

The Family Center collaborates with other great organizations such as PJ Library, the Federation’s Concierge for Young Families, Saul Mirowitz Jewish Community School, Epstein Hebrew Academy, Chabad, the various Jewish preschools and more to bring you the very best in family programming. Our family events usually fall on Sundays for working parents, and most programming is free of charge and centered around the Jewish holidays in a way that is accessible to small children.

Enrichment Classes

We offer many classes, including drop-off and parent-child classes. Class offerings may include gymnastics, cooking, mommy/baby exercise classes, music and even a six-week summer camp. We will even create a class for you if you bring us your idea, your available times and a minimum of six families.
