Used Book Sale
Book lovers, collectors, and avid readers all anticipate the J’s Used Book Sale – held in January and August each year!
Thousands of titles are available, including mystery and intrigue, novels, biographies, politics, religion, sports, cookbooks, history, animals, art, science, science fiction, business, women’s issues, foreign languages, gardening, poetry, psychology, self-help, humor…the list goes on. Parents and educators will find a large selection of books for children and youth as well as educational materials for homeschoolers. Multiples of titles are available for book club reading along with miscellaneous videos, books on tape/CDs and DVDs.
Summer Used Book Sale
NEW! VIP Preview
Sunday, August 25 | 8 – 10am
Special collectors and book buyers are welcome to join us at the first VIP Preview of the J’s Summer Used Book Sale. We will give you limited access to browse our collection of books before we open the book sale to the public! Browse thousands of books to find the missing pieces in your collections by purchasing exclusive access for $100!
Sunday, August 25 | 10am – 5pm
The book sale will open to the public at 10am with a $20 admission fee. Children 16 and under can browse for free.
Monday, August 26 – Wednesday, August 28 | 10am – 7pm
Book buyers are welcome to peruse the collection for free.
Thursday, August 29 | 10am-6pm
It’s Bag Day! Book buyers are welcome to peruse the collection for free and fill up a bag of books for just $10! Bags will be provided upon entering.
Teacher and Non-profit Hours
Teachers and non-profit representatives are invited to join us for FREE books!
Thursday, August 29 | 6-8pm
Friday, August 30 | 8-11am
Books containing antisemitic, hateful rhetoric and narratives against Jews have no place at our sale. If you find a book with these topics, please turn it into our volunteers or staff.
Used Book Donations
The Used Book Sale’s last day to drop off donations is was Sunday, August 4 while we prepare for our upcoming sale scheduled for August 25-29. Thanks to everyone in our community who supplied the J with thousands of books.
Book donations will be accepted again starting Monday, September 9. If you have a large donation, please contact Jessica Fischoff at jfischoff@jccstl.org or 314-442-3294.
Please refrain from donating books containing antisemitic, hateful rhetoric and narratives against Jews.
