Synopsis

In 1944, a Jewish couple in Paris desperately await news of their missing family. More than 70 years later, the couple’s great-grandchildren find themselves facing the same question as their ancestors: “Are we safe?” With humor and warmth, the play asks an urgent question: what does it mean to build a Jewish life in a place where hatred — past and present — shapes your experience? Artistic Director Rebekah Scallet directs this Drama Desk Award-winning play that has been wowing audiences across the country.
