Garden of Eden

The J is a proud partner in the Garden of Eden project. The Garden of Eden is a Jewish community garden on the grounds of the J which provides thousands of pounds of produce each year to the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry at Jewish Family and Children’s Services. In addition, some senior residents of the Covenant Place tend their own plots and grow their own produce. Volunteers work in the garden during the growing season, March-October.

If you would like to make a tribute gift to the Garden of Eden, please click here. In the ‘message’ field, please add ‘Garden of Eden’ to direct your gift to this program.

Come volunteer at the Garden of Eden on Sundays, Mondays, & Thursdays from 8 to 10:30 or 11.   Volunteer tasks include planting, weeding, stirring the compost, harvesting, and preparing the produce for transport to the pantry.  Fill out our volunteer application here or contact Stephanie Rhea, 314.442.3164.
