More Levels, More Confidence, More Fun
Welcome to a new and exciting program for swim lessons at the J! The J Splash Academy is our new, all-encompassing swim program, designed to create confident, strong, lifelong swimmers of all ages (starting at 6 months).
Our instructors are trained to offer compassion-based instruction, positive reinforcement and encouragement each step of the way. There are three broad areas of J Splash: Introduction to Water & Water Safety Skills, Basic Swimming Skills, and Competitive Swimming Technique. As children progress, they will “swim” their way through the fun development tiers. The new program provides more opportunity for skill level progression, regular feedback and accomplishment awards for swimmers as they progress through our “fishy” levels.

Fishy Levels
Classes introduce basic skills and safety to parents and children, while comforting parents as they teach their infants about putting their face in the water, blowing bubbles and being relaxed in a pool. Parent(s) are required to be in the water with their child.
This is an introduction to basic water skills thorough interactive play for children with little or no experience in a pool. Get in, get wet, and get comfortable.
Children comfortable in the water, but with limited skills, will be encouraged to do all Starfish skills independently. Pufferfish focus is to learn basic swimming survival.
Swimmers will receive an introduction to strokes and kicks as instructors focus on underwater breath control, kicking and pulling to result in forward-motion swimming and in-water safety skills. Students must be able to perform all Starfish and Puffer fish skills independently.
Angelfish step up to stroke development by learning and practicing beginner stokes, and an eventual introduction to advanced strokes and kicks. Instruction will also include diving and various techniques for treading water.
Stingrays will receive further instruction on proper stroke techniques and proficient rotary breathing. Swimmers will improve their skills practicing specific swimming and breathe control drills.
Once swimmers are able to perform all strokes and dives proficiently, instruction shifts focus to distant and endurance swimming, while introducing competitive swimming skills.
*Starfish – Angelfish will have a 4:1 students to instructor ratio. Stingrays and Hammerheads will have a 6:1 ratio.
