Support Theatre Unlimited

Theatre Unlimited, founded in 1987 through the J’s Life Enrichment Department, is one of St. Louis’s oldest barrier-free theatre programs for adults with disabilities. Each fall and spring, participants audition, rehearse, and perform fully staged productions in a supportive, inclusive environment. Rehearsals incorporate ensemble-building activities, chorus singing, role development, and foundational theatre skills while strengthening social, cognitive, emotional, and communication abilities.

Theatre Unlimited fosters creative expression, confidence, and meaningful connections, empowering participants to shine on stage and build lasting friendships through the transformative power of theatre.

Support Youth Theatre

Serving more than 170 young artists annually, the J’s Youth Theatre (link to page) builds confidence, creativity, and increases participants’ communication and discipline through an all-inclusive performing arts experience. Weekly rehearsals in music, dance, and acting culminate in two fully produced junior musicals and two KIDS presentations that showcase everyone’s growth and talent.

The St. Louis Jewish Book Festival & Speaker Series has welcomed renowned authors and unforgettable stories, offering audiences programs that expand the mind and capture the heart. JBF wants everyone to be able to hear, read, experience, share and give their opinions about Jewish stories, delivering more than 30 inspiring touchpoints to audiences across Missouri and the region.

Browse thousands of books at one of the J’s semi‑annual Used Book Sale—a can’t‑miss community event overflowing with incredible finds and unbeatable deals. With thousands of carefully sorted titles across every genre imaginable, attendees number in the hundreds at each sale, ranging from rare book collectors to teachers to casual readers.
Proceeds benefit Cultural Arts at the J and help bring great authors, films, and theatre to our St. Louis audiences.

Travel the world through film! The J’s St. Louis Jewish Film Festival showcases national and international cinema that explores universal issues through traditional Jewish values, opposing viewpoints and new perspectives. Documentaries, feature-length and short films are presented for two weeks, with community engagement opportunities before and after each film, when available.
With more than 1,800 attendees, JFF delivers a vibrant mix of films that make audiences laugh, cry, and reconsider what it means to be human. Every genre, from documentary to romance, offers a fresh lens on the stories that shape us.
