One of the many hidden gems at the J is the Garden of Eden. The garden is an all-volunteer-run community garden located on the right corner of the J’s soccer fields near the Arts & Education Building of the Staenberg Family Complex. The garden grows vegetables, fruits, herbs – whatever you can think of!

The hardworking volunteers work in the garden during the growing season, March-October. Their fruits of labor are then donated to the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry at Jewish Family and Children’s Services and given to families in need.

In addition to working hard in the garden each week, Garden Chair Myra Rosenthal writes a weekly garden newsletter wrapping up the week, including photos of all their hard work and some commentary. The staff at the J receive the newsletter and think our members would especially enjoy seeing them!
