Israel Election

This week on November 1, Israel had its fifth election in less than 4 years.

“It is very exciting, but all Israelis wish these elections were the last ones,” Snir said.

As it seems now – these are the last ones for the next 4 years. Benjamin Netanyahu and his future coalition – together with the Ultra-Orthodox Parties and the right Jewish Party Otzmah Yehudit are about to form a government.

Yitzhak Rabin Memorial Day

November 6 is the 27th Yitzhak Rabin Memorial Day. Yitzhak Rabin was the fifth Prime Minister of Israel and the IDF Chief of Staff. He was assassinated on November 4, 1995 by Yigal Amir, a far-right extremist. On this day, Israelis talk about peace, solidarity, pluralism and other important values.

You are invited to join Snir in a program called Democracy and Elections on Tuesday, November 8 at 7pm hosted by Kol Rinah Congregation. Israeli emissaries will discuss the connection between Rabin’s  Memorial, music and the Israeli Elections results.
