Learn more about how the Garden of Eden impacts our program participants in this letter from The Club:
Hello everyone,
We are in fourth grade, and we go to the J program, The Club. We have a club called the O.K. (Older Kids) Club, and fourth and fifth graders are in it. We do fun activities like gardening. In gardening, we do planting and harvesting fruits and vegetables and learn things about them. Did you know that peanuts are actually vegetables? Or did you know that a sweet potato takes two weeks to get sweet? We learn things like this in the O.K. Club.
For this club, we are doing an apple bar where we have apples with toppings and apple cider. Please support our fundraiser because all benefits go to the Garden of Eden where we plant food for the food pantry. We will be selling apple cider for $1, a half of an apple with toppings for $3, and a whole apple with toppings for $4. We will be selling these from 4 to 5:3opm on Monday, October 30, Wednesday, November 1, and Thursday, November 2.
Thank you so much for helping us out. We really appreciate it.
Zoe & Dylan, 4th-grade participants in The Club
*The J’s Garden of Eden has already donated more than 3,000 pounds of vegetables to the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry in 2017. This garden, located on the north side of the J’s Staenberg Family Complex, is maintained by volunteers and participants in the J’s programs.
