NJT Presents “Prayer for the French Republic” by Josh Harmon

Prayer for the French Republic
by Joshua Harmon April 16-May 3, 2026 In 1944, a Jewish couple in Paris desperately await news of their missing family. More than 70 years later, the couple’s great-grandchildren find themselves facing the same question as their ancestors: “Are we safe?” Following five generations of a French-Jewish family, Prayer for the French Republic is a sweeping look at history, home and the effects of an ancient hatred.
NJT (New Jewish Theatre), St. Louis’s premier small professional theatre, is dedicated to the exploration of universal themes and issues and the examination of the full range of the human experience filtered through the lens of the Jewish experience. Through the medium of theater, we build bridges of multicultural understanding, tolerance, communication, and education. NJT productions are held in the Wool Studio Theater, inside the Arts & Education Building of the J’s Staenberg Family Complex in Creve Coeur, Missouri. NJT is a program of the J – St. Louis.
