Early Childhood Center at the J in Chesterfield – Marilyn Fox Building

children-yoga

The J’s Early Childhood Center in Chesterfield, in partnership with the J’s Family Center, provides quality care and education that embraces the development of children’s minds, bodies and souls. We stimulate the minds of young children through innovative and individualized curriculum, implemented by a well-trained staff in a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment. Children develop their bodies and are encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyle habits through a physical education program that utilizes the best of the J’s resources in fitness, recreation and aquatics.

The soul is nurtured through living Jewish values and Jewish experiences in an environment that appreciates and respects the diversity of all children and their families. A family need not be Jewish to participate in this program – we welcome families of every faith.

What makes us different?

early-childhood-centerAs part of the J, our Chesterfield location allows our children to enjoy year-round swimming and physical education classes. Our programming in Chesterfield allows us to offer additional extra-curricular classes on-site, including sports leagues, sciences, computers, dance and more. Pre-school-aged children participate in J Day Camps during the summer at no additional cost.

Additionally, The Early Childhood Center at the J is the only Jewish Missouri-licensed and accredited preschool in our area.

What is our curriculum?

The J’s Early Childhood Center in Chesterfield follows two curriculum programs: Project Construct and Conscious Discipline. Project Construct is an interaction-based curriculum. Children learn through interactions with other children, as well as through the physical world. Conscious Discipline is an emotional intelligence and classroom management program. It is a research-based program proven to increase academic achievement and improve the quality of relationships.

Our staff use these two curriculum methods to ready our students for what comes next. One hundred percent of our pre-K graduates are prepared for kindergarten, as measured by a state developmental checklist.
