Small-group training combines the personalized attention of one-on-one sessions with the motivation and energy of a group setting. It’s an effective way to improve all areas of fitness—cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and body composition—while enjoying a fun, supportive environment.

With groups typically ranging from two to eight participants, certified trainers ensure proper technique and provide individualized guidance. Workouts can be easily modified for any fitness level, and the group dynamic adds accountability, encouragement, and a healthy dose of friendly competition.

Small-Group Training at the J

The J offers two dynamic options beyond one-on-one personal training:

Signature Small-Group Training – High-energy sessions for 5–8 participants featuring innovative equipment and techniques like TRX, ViPR, CoreHammer, and SRT Barbells.

Semi-Private Training – A more intimate experience often with just 2–3 participants, perfect for those who want extra attention while training with a partner or two.

Both programs are designed for adults 18 and older and are available at The J – Staenberg Family Complex in Creve Coeur and The J – Marilyn Fox Building in Chesterfield.
