Caring & Engaging Early Childhood Day Camp Experiences

Full-Day and Half-Day Camps for Ages 3–5/Pre-K

Camp Katan (Chesterfield) and Camp Koplar (Creve Coeur) are early childhood camps designed especially for our youngest campers. Each day is filled with music, storytelling, art, swimming (including both swim lessons and free swim), sports, nature activities, and more. Guided by early childhood educators, all activities are developmentally appropriate and tailored to campers ages 3 to 5 (pre-K).

Campers staying for the afternoon enjoy a rest period. All participants must be fully toilet-trained (potty mastery) and at least 3 years old by the start of camp. Both camps are operated by the caring staff and teachers of the J’s Early Childhood Centers.

Full‑day camp runs from 9am–3pm, and half‑day camp runs from 9am–12:30pm. Lunch is provided for all full‑day campers! Limited PM Care options are now available at Camp Koplar/Creve Coeur! AM Care is not currently available for Camps Katan and Koplar.

Early Childhood Center at Camp

For families enrolled in the Early Childhood Centers at the J, summer camp feels like a natural extension of the school year. Children stay with familiar ECC classmates, receive developmentally appropriate support, and enjoy a seamless, comfortable transition into summer and again into the new school year.

These groups take part in the full Camp Katan or Camp Koplar experience while remaining with the peers they’ll return to in the fall, creating consistency, confidence, and a strong sense of community all summer long.

While grouped separately, all children from the Early Childhood Center and community-enrolled campers participate together at Camp Koplar and Camp Katan for a summer of fun!
