SUMMARY:Croissants & Conversation – An NJT "Prayer for the French Republic" Special Experience
DESCRIPTION:A fascinating look at the true history behind NJT’s St. Louis premiere production of Joshua Harmon’s Prayer for the French Republic. Taking place in 1945-1946 and 2015\, the play follows five generations of a family in Paris who survive the Holocaust only to face new threats seventy years later. Dr. Dorian Stuber will provide an overview of the history of Jewish life in France\, focusing on the years leading up to and following World War II. He will also share the stories of some of those in our own St. Louis Jewish community whose family history connects them to France. Coffee and croissants will be served. \nDr. Stuber is the dramaturg for Prayer for the French Republic\, as well as Emeritus Professor at Hendrix College and a member of the Missouri Holocaust Education and Awareness Commission. \nPrayer for the French Republic runs from April 16 to May 3 at the J’s Wool Studio Theatre\, inside the J – Staenberg Family Complex Arts & Education Building. Get Tickets > \nSpecial thanks to the Rubin and Gloria Feldman Family Educational Institute for its support of NJT events that are designed to provide context for the production of Prayer for the French Republic. \nAccessibility & Parking\nFree and accessible parking is available on site. \nAccessible seating and wheelchairs are available upon request. \n\nRegister\nFREE | Registration Required \nReserve Your Free Ticket
