Tough Mudder: Join Team J

The J is putting together a team for Tough Mudder, the premiere fitness/obstacle event, on Sunday, May 19 in Wright City, MO. “Team J” is seeking both experienced Tough Mudder participants and newcomers. Our fitness staff will help you prepare to deliver your best performance and complete alongside you on race day! Learn more about Tough Mudder below. 

Joining Team J is great for both experienced Tough Mudder participants and newcomers – our fitness staff will be here to help everyone prepare for the race, train to achieve their best performance and be there on race day to complete the challenge with you.

We are also offering optional, Tough-Mudder-specific, small-group training packages to help you get in peak condition on the day of the Tough Mudder. 


Ten Mile/Twenty Three Obstacle Event: $170

Participating with Team J includes: race entry, bag drop, Team J shirt, Tough Mudder event t-shirt, Tough Mudder headband, lunch, two beer tickets, carpool/logistics, parking and the support of our fitness staff and team along the way!

Our fitness staff is here to get you in peak condition for this event. In addition to your race entry, we are also offering optional Tough Mudder-specific small-group training in four-week and eight-week plans. Small group training begins the week of March 24.

  • Training will be similar to the Tough Mudder itself
  • Train and make friends by joining this small group to develop your strength and endurance to be in peak “Mudder” condition
  • Training includes running, circuit strength exercises, endurance training and obstacle-specific skills building to elevate your self-confidence

What is Tough Mudder?

Tough Mudder is an endurance event involving mud and fun/challenging obstacles with running/jogging/walking in between each. Check out the video above!

How difficult is the course?

Part of the difficulty of the course is the distance to accomplish, which will be 10 mile which we expect to run, walk, jog, hike (crawl, squirm) as a team.  The distance obviously impacts the difficulty and, the obstacles range in difficulty and method of challenge. The obstacles are creatively designed to be fun, but also test participants and take them out of their comfort zone, requiring climbing, crawling, carrying, hanging, heat, cold and more!

How do I prepare?

Each J location has a small group training schedule for participants to prepare for the event in response to popularity and demand. Training will be centered around running/walking/jogging stamina, as well as relative body strength (your ability to move/control your body through the challenges set forth).
