Lost Tribe Esports

Lost Tribe Esports (LTE) is revolutionizing how we connect with the next generation, building teen engagement with Jewish communal life through online and in-person events. We’re excited to offer our St. Louis teens this platform to connect and game!

LTE’s online platform provides our community with unlimited access for teens (ages 13 and up) to a range of safe, monitored, online, esports-based connections.

What is Lost Tribe Esports:

  • A 24/7 gaming and social hub for teens. Our J has a ‘home base’ on LTE’s private Discord* server
  • Unlimited access for our J’s teens to congregate virtually

How does it work?

  • Teens sign up via a custom link that leads directly to our home base (it’s quick and easy).
  • There, they socialize with peers from our community and find partners for gaming.
  • They can also branch out to other channels within the Lost Tribe Esports server, connecting and gaming with Jewish peers from
    around the world.

Free Services:

  • 24/7 Online Gaming/Social Hub
  • Online Tournaments
    • “One-and-done” online tournaments in a variety of non-shooter games, offered two-three times weekly
    • No fee
    • Teens register in advance; enter virtual lobby 30 minutes before kickoff to claim spot in tournament
    • Duration: approximately three hours
  • Lost Tribe Minecraft Servers
    • LTE hosts several Minecraft servers, allowing groups of teens and their friends play together with their own set of rules.
    • Meet, play, create, and cooperate with Jewish peers from our J and other JCCs that share the Lost Tribe Minecraft server

How does this promote Jewish Values:

  • Promote informal Jewish learning, including Jewish values-infused gaming rules; “Game to Give,” tzedakah opportunities; and more
  • Build new Jewish relationships, as teens engage actively with Jewish peers from around the world
  • Help keep teens engaged with their Jewish friends and their connection to their community during COVID-19 shutdown and beyond

Discord & Safety:

What is Discord?

  • Discord is an instant messaging platform (similar to Slack), for online gamers. LTE uses it to connect teens through voice and text chat rooms. The J will have a private channel to serve as a home base online connecting our community.
  • The server also contains various channels dedicated to teens’ favorite games, which helps encourage participation.

What do teens do on Discord?

  • Communicate! Voice chat, text chat, and video chat
  • Connect with Jewish teens locally, and globally
  • Find partners for 1-on-1 and team games
  • Participate in online tournaments

What about safety?

  • LTE has instituted several layers of protection to safeguard teens and their data. They operate in consultation with their advisor on cyber safety and cyber ethics, Ben Halpert.
  • Automated bots monitor our server to find and remove inappropriate language, 24/7.
  • All participants must be at least 13 years old.
