SUMMARY:Paths Forward for Gaza\, Israel\, & The Middle East
DESCRIPTION:An Evening with Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib\, A Gazan Advocate for Peace\, Realign For Palestine at the Atlantic Council \nDoors Open 6:30pm | Program Begins 7pm \nSecurity will be in place; please leave large bags at home. \nOrganized by JCRC and Friends of Israel and sponsored by the Jewish Book Festival & Speaker Series\, a program of the J. \n\nAbout Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib\nSenior Fellow at Atlantic Council and Director of Realign For Palestine \nAhmed Fouad Alkhatib leads Realign For Palestine\, an Atlantic Council project that challenges entrenched narratives in the Israel and Palestine discourse and develops a new policy framework for rejuvenated pro-Palestine advocacy. Realign For Palestine aims to cultivate a new generation of Palestinian voices committed to a two-nation solution\, nonviolence\, and radical pragmatism. \nAlkhatib serves as a resident senior fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Middle East programs\, where he writes extensively on Gaza’s political and humanitarian affairs\, is an outspoken critic of Hamas\, and promotes a radically pragmatic approach to peace and Palestinian statehood as the only path forward between Palestinians and Israelis. His writing and opinions have been published and featured across the US\, Israeli\, and international press\, and his views are prominently featured across social media platforms. Alkhatib holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in intelligence and national security studies. He grew up in Gaza City and left Gaza in 2005. Much of Ahmed’s experience is influenced by having grown up in Gaza during the Oslo peace process — and during the difficulties resulting from Oslo’s failure — and the rise of Hamas and Islamism in Gaza. \nSince the October 7 massacre\, Alkhatib’s life has been deeply impacted by the loss of thirty-three of his immediate and extended family members\, who were killed by three different Israeli airstrikes. Still\, he aims to play a part in breaking the cycle of dehumanization and defying the cycle of hatred\, incitement\, violence\, and revenge. \n\nRegistration\nRegistration required. \nREGISTER \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:Vindicta @ Alamo Drafthouse City Foundry – A St. Louis Jewish Film Festival Event
DESCRIPTION:2025\, MPA Rating: NR\nUSA\, English\nDominik Sedlar\nFeature: 120 minutes \nBrutal\, intimate\, and unflinching\, Vindicta plunges audiences into the raw aftermath of unimaginable loss. After witnessing the murder of her parents\, a young Jewish woman is forced into hiding — and into a life defined by rage. What begins as survival hardens into a relentless pursuit of vengeance\, as she uses intimacy and deception to hunt those responsible for the destruction of her family. Each encounter blurs the line between power and peril\, justice and obsession. Inspired by true accounts of women who resisted the Nazi regime\, Vindicta is a tense and morally unsettling portrait of trauma\, desire\, and fury — asking whether revenge can ever heal what hatred has already destroyed. \nTrailer\n \nThe Alamo Draft House City Foundry\nThis showing of Vindicta (one of two) will take place at Alamo Drafthouse at City Foundry STL\, a vibrant Midtown destination known for its top-tier cinema experience.
