CAROL C. LEVIN BALLET PROGRAM
FEATURING THE SAINT LOUIS BALLET
Miriam Mahdaviani, who danced for many years with New York City Ballet, choreographed Between the Lines, a jazzy balletic duet to George Gershwin’s popular Three Piano Preludes, arranged for piano and violin. Syncopated rhythms alternate with the Blues to propel the dancers through this dazzling dance, appropriately set in the reading room of a library. Back by popular demand, the program also includes Mahdaviani’s Mishpacha, the rousing finale of last year’s Jewish Book Festival program accompanied by Klezmer music. In addition to the pieces by Ms. Mahdaviani, the Saint Louis Ballet will perform an original work by artistic director, Gen Horiuchi.
Takes place at the Touhill Performing Arts Center – Lee Theater on the UMSL campus
