Local artist Deborah Katon teaches the art of metal tooling—a centuries-old embossing technique used to beautify Jewish artifacts. Participants will design, etch and patina wall hangings adorned with the hamsa, a protectant against evil, or chai symbol, the Hebrew word for “life”. Materials and light refreshments provided. Veteran metal-toolers and first-timers welcome.
