Dining with Dignity
April 7, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Thank you for your support as we continue to improve our participants’ lives through our Adult Day services. Currently, we wish to create a dignified dining experience by replacing our colorless, chipped, institutional-looking plates and flatware. We also wish to become more environmentally friendly by reducing our use of styrofoam cups and plastic utensils.
In order to support the independence of our participants’ dining experience, it’s critical we acquire dinnerware that offers the appropriate color, size and shape. Proper dinnerware assists in overcoming some of the cognitive, visual, and motor skill impairments which may pose challenges for several participants. As we serve more than 600 meals weekly (31,000 annually), and prepare kosher meals on site through our Adult Services area, we consider this a critical need. We would like to raise enough to purchase 150 table settings (75 dairy, 75 meat).
Want to see the impact you can make? Join us for an Adult Day at the J Open House on April 7 from 2-4pm. RSVP for our open house by contacting Karen Stephenson, 314-442-3248.
