Submissions for the 2022 St. Louis Book Festival are now closed. We will update this page with the 2023 festival submission dates in early 2023.

2022 Submission Guidelines

The guidelines for a book and author to be considered for a presentation during the November Festival are as follows:

  • The book must have a copyright date in the relevant Festival year.
  • The book may be a new release, a new version or an updated edition.
  • If the author is Jewish, the content of the book is not restricted. If the author is not Jewish, the book must have Judaic content.

The guidelines for a book and author to be considered for a presentation outside of the November Festival (a bookend event) are as follows:

  • The book must have a copyright date in the relevant Festival year.
  • The book may be a new release, a new version or an updated edition.
  • Authors of all faiths and topics are considered.

Missouri Authors

Missouri authors have the opportunity to submit books to be sold in the Festival bookstore even if they are not presenting authors. Such books must have a copyright date in the relevant festival year or from the year prior. Up to 10 copies may be dropped off with a staff member in the Cultural Arts Department of the A&E Building on the Staenberg Family Complex. Author contact information must be included and all books must be clearly marked with the price. The Festival bookstore receives a 25% commission on all local book sales.
